Neoclassical as Hobbesian Economics

Since the 1940s economics has been increasingly dominated by purely analytical con­cerns of a mathematical nature and a behavioural model akin to “homo wconomicus”. At the same time it insisted on being an empirical science. Without being aware of it, neo­classical economics went back to the ideas of its true founding father, Thomas Hobbes.
