Multiple births

It is clear from the literature that parturients are at greater risk of death in a multiple than in a single birth. We mark confinements as multiple if more than one baptism occurs with the same mother on the same date. In analysis it is the birthing, not the infant, which is the event of interest. Note that parity counts in this analysis are counts of birthings, not of children born.
