Wicksell was a prolific writer on a large variety of political and economic issues. The excellent bibliography by Knudtzon and Hedlund-Nystrom (1976) listed more than 800 publications, prompting the rediscovery of much more material, partly unpublished. In the following, the focus is on Wicksell’s most eminent contributions to the theories of income distribution, taxation, capital, interest and inflation. Their connection may be seen in Wicksell’s untiring endeavours to provide a unified framework for economic analysis on the basis of the marginal principle.
