Universal type of poverty
This type of poverty can be found in every society and every age for universal causes such as old age, childhood without parents or family members who take care of them, diseases, lack of capabilities inborn or acquired, idleness, low wages, lack of employment, underemployment, and so on. The lack of employment is caused by different factors according to different stages of economic development. In underdeveloped economies, the major cause of unemployment is shortage of labour demand due to an insufficiency of capital. In developed economies, labour can be unemployed for insufficient demand for products and labour saving technical progress.
