The classic work in English remains Small (1909). Interest in this area was first revived by Pierangelo Schiera’s analysis of Prussian economic administration and the literature of cameralism (1968).
My own book (1988) is primarily focused upon the development of university teaching from the early eighteenth century, while my 2006 essay provides a more concise survey. Guillaume Garner (2005) is the only detailed account in French of cameralism, developing an argument about the spatial reorganisation of early modern economies. Ulrich Adam (2006) has written a monograph on Justi which draws attention to the more general political implications of his diverse activities, while Andre Wakefield (2009) directs attention to the more practical aspects of “wealth creation” in eighteenth century Germany.Adam, U.
