Translating Turgot is not an easy task. Modern English translations of some of Turgot’s writings are by Ronald L. Meek (Precursors of Adam Smith, London: Dent, 1973, and Turgot on Progress, Sociology and Economics, Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 1973) and Peter Groenewegen (The Economics of A.R.J.
Turgot, The Hague: Martinus Nijhoff, 1977). Some of them, completed with older translations of other texts, are republished in The Turgot Collection (David Gordon, ed., 2011, Auburn: Ludwig von Mises Institute).
