Harvard versus Chicago (from 1950 to 1970)

In the 1950s and 1960s the scene was dominated by the Harvard approach: consequently government interventions intensified, taking the forms of nationalization, regulation and antitrust action. In the meantime, the Chicago position became more radical, giving rise to a clash between the two schools of thought. These two decades also saw important developments in the theory of oligopoly.
